Jeffre on Interestingness (video)

Being Interesting is arguably the most overlooked quality in marketing communications.

When discussing whether an ad should run marketing communications decision-makers often ask if a message is clear, persuasive, distinctive, and entertaining, but we don't ask if it's interesting.

And maybe that's because, on the surface, being interesting seems so obvious we overlook what being interesting means and what value it brings to the brand.

In this short video, Jeffre Jackson begins to explore the concept of Interestingness, how interesting advertising works differently, and what value Interestingness delivers for marketers.

The video was originally produced in 2006 as an introduction to a series of conferences we did around the world called Interesting New York, Interesting Amsterdam, Interesting London, and Interesting Sydney. (You can tell it was made years ago because Jeffre still had hair and references to Shakira and the iPod).

There is a lot more to come, but this will give you a taste of what we've been working on.
